ACG is committed to incorporating sustainability concepts, principles and practices into learning and teaching.

Majors & Minors

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies (ES) is an interdisciplinary program that provides the students with a sound background and skills, necessary to address the global environmental problems. In this increasingly complex world, there is urgent need for sustainable solutions and for mitigation and adaptation options to address the global problems at multiple levels, environmental, social, economic, and political. The students of this program obtain skills that make them competitive in the pursue of green and sustainability-related careers and can undertake graduate studies in environment-related fields.

Deree – The American College of Greece also offers a Biomedical Sciences program. The BMS is an undergraduate degree that helps students acquire a strong foundation in the life sciences, especially in the biomedical and healthcare fields. The use of integrative approaches to health and wellness will guide students to understand key aspects of health care and help them find solutions to some of the most crucial health issues of our time.

Minors in Environmental Studies, Environmental Management and Sustainable Economics and Finance are offered.

The American College of Greece (ACG) currently offers 149 sustainability-focused (49) and sustainability-inclusive courses (100), both on the undergraduate (Deree) and graduate level (Deree and Alba Graduate Business School).

Sustainability Research

Faculty members from departments such as Science and Mathematics, Tourism, Hospitality and Sports, and the Alba Graduate Business School are engaged in sustainability-related research.
