Financial Assistance/Scholarship for North American Students
With this program, a 10% to 35% tuition reduction is awarded to entering students based on their high school academic performance, and overall student profile (i.e. letter of recommendation, personal statement, personal interview, extracurricular activities, work experience and other factors).
- For incoming high school students or for students who have under 15 credit hours from a university, their high school transcript will be evaluated.
- For incoming students who have 16 credit hours or above, their college transcripts will be evaluated*.
- The equivalency requirements for high school students is evaluated on an unweighted GPA.
- Students must maintain their GPA in order to renew their award.
* Students who are enrolled in college courses during high school will have their high school transcripts evaluated.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be a high school graduate
- Have achieved a GPA of at least 3.40/4.00
To continue receiving the award students must:
Students Admitted or Readmitted as of Fall 2022
A. Bachelor degree-seeking students
Merit Scholarships are awarded for 6 continuous years provided that recipients:
- achieve a minimum Cumulative Index (CI) of 3.10/4.00 by the completion of their first year at Deree and maintain this CI until the completion of 30 undergraduate academic credits (prior to the completion of the first year the CI must be at least 2.00/4.00). After the completion of the 30 undergraduate credits and until graduation, recipients must maintain a minimum CI of 3.20/4.00
- earn passing grade(s) in EAPP courses if they are under the English for Academic Purposes Program.
- register for successive Fall and Spring semesters for at least 2 courses per semester and maintain this course load throughout each semester.
- be in compliance with all College policies including the Student Conduct Code.
B. Certificate minor-seeking students or non-degree students
Merit Scholarships are awarded for 3 continuous years provided that the recipients:
- achieve a minimum CI of 3.10/4.00 after the completion of their first term (either semester or session) at Deree and a minimum CI of 3.20/4.00 after the completion of their second term (either semester or session). The minimum CI of 3.20/4.00 must be maintained until graduation.
- earn passing grade(s) in EAPP courses if they are under the English for Academic Purposes Program.
- register for successive Fall and Spring semesters for at least 1 course per semester and maintain this course load throughout each semester.
- be in compliance with all College policies including the Student Conduct Code.
Students Admitted or Readmitted prior to Fall 2022
A. Bachelor degree-seeking students
Merit Scholarships are awarded for 6 continuous years provided that recipients:
- achieve a minimum CI of 3.00/4.00 by the completion of their first year at Deree and maintain this CI until graduation. (Prior to the completion of the first year, the CI must be at least 2.00/4.00.)
- earn passing grade(s) in EAPP courses if they are under the English for Academic Purposes Program.
- register for successive Fall and Spring semesters for at least 2 courses per semester and maintain this course load throughout each semester.
- be in compliance with all College policies including the Student Conduct Code.
B. Certificate minor-seeking students or non-degree students
Merit Scholarships are awarded for 3 continuous years provided that the recipients:
- achieve a minimum CI of 3.00/4.00 after the completion of their first term (either semester or session) at Deree and maintain this CI until graduation.
- earn passing grade(s) in EAPP courses if they are under the English for Academic Purposes Program.
- register for successive Fall and Spring semesters for at least 1 course per semester and maintain this course load throughout each semester.

No application procedure is required unless interested students wish to file for additional need-based financial assistance.
