Katia Fytrou graduated from Deree in 1992 with a BA in Dance and 2018 with an MA in Strategic & Public Relations. Katia is a versatile multi-disciplinary professional with a proven record of strategic communications and public relations accomplishments.
Katia has explored various sectors and job positions, including dance instructor-choreographer, operational & marketing manager in dance schools, owner & marketing director of a consulting services company, and marketing manager for Microland Computers AEBE. Currently, she serves as the COO & Marketing Director of Cosmos Business Systems Group, a tech company she joined in 2017.

The endless hours in the dance classes in the Gym
Q: What do you miss most from your days at Deree?
Talks with friends in the cafeteria.
Q: If you could go back in time, is there anything that you would do differently?
I would have decided on a double master, which I didn’t, but after many years I came back for a Master’s instead.
Q: Where was your favorite spot on campus?
The ancient theatre with its marvelous view of Athens
Q: Who was your favorite teacher and why?
Cindy Trend! Always full of energy, happy, and a big hug for everyone.
Q: After graduation, have you maintained a relationship with your school and classmates?
Yes, we do, and we meet regularly every 3 or 4 months, even if our paths have deviated a lot. We keep the Deree spirit alive in us.
Q: Looking back, how did your time at Deree help you become the person you are today?
In many different ways: focus on organization, follow deadlines, and attention to detail.
Q: What advice would you give a new Deree student?
Enjoy every moment on the campus, participate in the clubs, participate in talent shows, help in charity events, and follow the student life; it’s a unique opportunity.
Q: Where do you get your inspiration from?
Mainly from my husband, an excellent example of a self-created and tireless person.
Q: What is your motto in life?
Never stop learning; there is a whole world of knowledge for you out there!
