Position: Full-time Faculty in Economics

Deree-The American College of Greece is seeking a full-time faculty member in Economics.
Full-time faculty members teach eight courses per year, engage in scholarship, and are active members of the department, School and College.
Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Economics or related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least one degree from a US or UK accredited institution
  • Teaching experience, preferably at a US or a UK higher education institution.
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language.
  • A strong publications record.

Familiarity with deployment of simulated trading room facilities for teaching and research purposes would be helpful.

Position: Visiting Research Scholar

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree -The American College of Greece seeks a visiting scholar who will undertake a research and writing project leading to a volume on the contributions of physicians and biomedical scientists of Greek heritage in the advancement of clinical and experimental Medicine over the last 200 years. This project will lead to publication of a printed and electronic volume.

Project Title: “1821-2021: Greek Pioneers and Innovators in Medicine and Biomedical Sciences

This project is undertaken with the occasion of the 200-year anniversary of the declaration of Greek Independence. It aims to make known the achievements of scientists of Greek heritage in Medicine and Biosciences, and their contributions in the advancement of clinical and experimental medicine. It also aims to identify role models for future practitioners and researchers in these fields.

This is a funded research project supervised by the American College of Greece in collaboration with ARISTEiA-Institute for the Advancement of Research & Education in Arts, Sciences & Technology, and a scientific board made up of prominent Greek biomedical scientists.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate expertise in both History and Medicine or Biosciences.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates (OR Manages) daily office operations /communication to external and internal audiences/ internal processes and completes office requests to ensure the smooth operation of the office. Operations include but are not limited to: office calls, alumni/visitor requests, supplies, requisitions, work order & media forms, office calendar, meetings, stewardship letters, other special requests.
  • Supports the Advancement team in the planning and organization of office events, alumni reunions/Homecomings and solicitation campaigns that aim to increase alumni & prospects engagement and participation rate.
  • Coordinates administrative requirements of the Advancement Office communication platforms & programs (ACG Connect, LinkedIn, FB, LinkedIn learning) to increase alumni engagement and giving and support the Advancement office strategic goals.
  • Support the office Database Management to ensure updated information on potential fundraising and alumni prospects and support the Advancement office strategic goals.
  • Support the implementation of the key alumni and donor strategic priorities and programs, to maximize participation, engagement and giving.
  • Coordinates office communication (oral & written) on the Deree Degree recognition procedures to ensure excellent Alumni service and positive word of mouth.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the team including support to the VP of Advancement, to ensure the smooth operation of the office.
  • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.

Position: Advertising/Mass Communication Faculty

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree – The American College of Greece seeks a faculty member to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Advertising and Mass Communication. FT Faculty members teach the equivalent of eight undergraduate courses per year, engage in scholarly activities, and provide additional service to the department, School and College. Associate faculty members teaching the equivalent of six courses per year and engage in service activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Communication or in related area.
  • Outstanding command of spoken and written English.
  • Potential to engage in scholarly research.
  • Professional experience in Advertising/Communication/Public Relations industry.
  • At least one degree from a US or UK institution.

Knowledge:

  • An understanding of current practices in Advertising or Promotional Communication, including research and theoretical concepts.

The School of Business & Economics at Deree-The American College of Greece is seeking an Associate Lecturer in Management. Associate Lecturers teach six courses per year, but are not required to engage in scholarly activities.

Position: Senior Manager, Art Collection

The American College of Greece seeks an experienced collections professional to oversee the maintenance, documentation, preservation, and research of its art collection, which numbers almost 5.000 works (www.acg.edu). The Collection Senior Manager will also be responsible for the operation of the College’s gallery, display of works on campus, coordination of the annual art exhibition and catalog publication, as well as the collection’s database and occasional curatorial projects. The Manager will be involved in presentations and will work closely with the Art Review Committee, the academic departments and numerous College offices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in arts management, art history, museum or gallery studies, curatorial studies, cultural studies, visual culture studies, art theory or closely related field.
  • Professional experience in arts management or related field and knowledge of modern and contemporary art.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Greek. Interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently or with others. Knowledge of computer databases and computer image files.

Part Time Position: Program Manager – Executive MBA Program’s Department

ALBA Graduate Business School-The American College of Greece is seeking to recruit a passionate and dynamic professional for the team of its Executive MBA Program’s Department.

The Executive MBA Program’s Department is responsible for the administrative support of the Executive MBA Program of the school, providing services to a wide range of individuals and organisations, including students, members of the faculty, visiting faculty, companies and other stakeholders.

The new Program Manager will be responsible for the efficient and smooth operation of the ALBA Executive MBA Program, following Academic Director’s and Administrative Director’s instructions. Among other responsibilities, he or she will be the first point of contact for existing and prospective students and the interface between the school and its faculty.

Required Qualifications:

  • University graduate
  • A minimum of relevant working experience (preferable in the educational sector) is highly desirable
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Greek educational market and current trends
