Position: Part-time Instructor in Communication (Film Production)

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree – The American College of Greece seeks a part-time instructor to teach undergraduate courses in film production.

Required Qualifications:

  • MFA or master’s degree in an area of communication.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in videography and editing.
  • Outstanding command of spoken and written English.
  • At least one year of higher education teaching experience.

Knowledge:

  • An understanding of videography and editing techniques as a fundamental component of audiovisual communication and of their applications across the media.

General Skills:

  • Proficiency in the use of editing software, preferably Premiere.
  • Proficiency in the use of cameras, lenses, and lighting to complete short video work of different kinds.
  • Ability to teach students the above.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency in still photography.

Position: Part-time Instructor in Graphic Design

The Frances Rich School of Fine & Performing Arts seeks a part time instructor to teach undergraduate courses in Typography.

Required Qualifications:

  • MA in Graphic Design / Visual Communication, Typography or equivalent field with at least one degree from a US or UK institution.
  • PhD or MFA helpful.
  • Eligible for Ministry of Education registration number.

Knowledge:

  • Specialized and broad theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of Typography.

The Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts at Deree – The American College of Greece seeks a part-time instructor to teach classical and contemporary dramaturgies and contemporary interdisciplinary performance theories and practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree related to the field of drama and theatre Arts and contemporary performance practice required.
  • Terminal degree (MFA, Ph.D.) highly desirable.
  • Required before contract start date: Ministry of Education Colleges Faculty Registration Number.

Knowledge:

  • Breadth of knowledge of classical and contemporary dramaturgies.
  • Specialized knowledge in the areas of interdisciplinary theatre theories and practices and the applications of these in 20th and 21st c. performance.

Experience:

  • Teaching experience, ideally at a US or a UK higher education institution.
  • Experience in the teaching of a variety of contemporary approaches and theories of adaptation and appropriation of Classical, pre-modern and modern theatre traditions.

Position: Associate Lecturer in Psychology

Position: Audiovisual and Music Lab Facilities Manager

Deree – The American College of Greece seeks an audiovisual lab facility manager to oversee the daily operations of a student production lab for students in communication and music. The manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the lab. Duties include booking lab spaces and equipment for students and faculty members; regulating and overseeing access to the lab; helping students use the audio board and amplification equipment, and other audiovisual recording equipment, including control room equipment; and ensuring that equipment is maintained, secure and used appropriately.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one degree from an English-speaking institution of higher learning
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Hiring is contingent on eligibility to work in any member nation of the European Union

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with sound engineering for live music events
  • At least two years’ experience in an audiovisual production-related job

Position: Full-Time Faculty in the department of Accounting, Economics and Finance

The School of Business & Economics at Deree-The American College of Greece is seeking a full-time faculty member in the department of Accounting, Economics and Finance.

Full-time faculty members teach eight courses per year, engage in scholarship, and are active members of the department, School and College.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Economics or Finance from an accredited institution.

Residential Services Staff (live-in)

The Office of Housing & Residential Services is seeking a candidate for the position of Residential Services Staff.

Residing in the residence complex is imperative for this position (apartment to be provided)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a subject area relevant to Hospitality management.
  • At least two years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in the English language both oral and written.
  • Fluent in IT skills (Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Excellent customer service and decision making skills.
  • Excellent administration skills, with a strong attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide a friendly, professional and customer orientated frontline service to students.
  • Day to day management of the College residences to ensure that their condition is maintained (room inspections and involvement in end of semester room checks, efficient identification and reporting of maintenance and cleaning issues, compliance with health and safety regulations, liaison with Facilities Maintenance and Cleaning to ensure maintenance of the asset).
  • Working to ensure residents’ understanding of and compliance with residence terms and conditions.
  • Dealing with all accommodation enquiries and helping resolve any problems or complaints.
  • Liaison and team working with College staff to promote well-being of students and prevent anti-social or risky behaviors.
  • On occasion liaison with other departments to help resolve issues.
  • Enforce safety and security policies and procedures, provide early feedback or potential risks.
  • Communicate daily issues to Maintenance and ensure timely resolution of relevant issues.
  • Work cooperatively with students to ensure an environment that displays respect for the rights and privacy of others and promotes consideration of the individual.
  • Disseminate and communicate all announcements and policies of the residential program to the residential community.
  • Ensure that apartments and the residence complex remain thoroughly clean and that an accurate inventory of all residence life storage rooms and updated equipment is maintained.
  • Fulfil all required administrative tasks including various reports.
  • Participate (on certain occasions) in excursions and other programmed outings of study abroad students.
  • Promote residences to prospects and their families during site visits.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
