Position: P-T Instructor in Visual Arts

Deree-The American College of Greece is seeking a candidate to the position of P-T instructor in the Visual Arts Department of the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts.

Required Qualifications:

  • MA and significant professional experience, or MFA or Ph.D. in a closely related field.
  • Interdisciplinary contemporary art practitioner, able to teach fundamentals of art in color, drawing and the moving image.
  • Required before contract start date: Ministry of Education Faculty registry number.

General skills: :

  • Ability to undertake and develop teaching in art practice with an emphasis in drawing and painting and video, by using hand and computer.
  • Ability to support and guide student to research, develop and finalize interdisciplinary art projects.
  • Effective teaching experience in higher education, preferably at an English speaking institution.
  • Professional experience as a contemporary artist and experience of a range of art techniques and applications.
  • Fluency in the English language and excellent oral and written skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Evidence of development and delivery of art related projects in the community.
  • Evidence of interest in working across disciplines (such as curatorial, organizational, theoretical etc.)

Position: Admissions & Career Counselor

The Office of Career Services & the Office of Admissions are seeking a full-time counselor to be shared between the two offices. Within the year, the counselor will be occupied for a period of 6 months in each of the two departments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Master Degree will be considered additional asset
  • 1-2 years’ work experience in counselling/advising, sales or customer care positions
  • Fluent in Greek & English; strong English oral and writing skills

Career Office Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle systematically the administration of job postings and their promotion, the collection and submission of CVs, the receipt of feedback; maintain records for reports

Position: Data & Reporting Analyst, Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR)

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR) department of The American College of Greece (ACG) is seeking a full time data analyst to join its team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations Manager and as part of a small team; will be responsible for creating, managing, researching, analyzing, and maintaining constituent data to serve as a foundation for fundraising and alumni relations initiatives across ACG.

Required Qualifications:

  • First degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or other quantitative field that includes data analysis/reporting and/or database management as a substantial part of the degree plus three years of related working experience (working portfolio may be requested).
  • Shown experience working with relational databases including the ability in writing and understanding SQL queries for large volumes of data.
  • Knowledge and experience on the use of CRM systems
  • Knowledge of industry related data extraction and reporting tools.
  • Ability to identify, coordinate and aggregate data from a variety of sources including the knowledge to design, develop, validate, test and deploy custom reports, ad-hoc queries, and data exports.
  • Ability to conceptualize, perform, document and automate complex data output projects including data merges, imports and exports, feeds to auxiliary systems and desktop databases.
  • Demonstrates accountability for work accuracy and attention to detail including sensitivity and respect for confidential information.
  • Experience using Microsoft software, including Word, Excel (data analysis), Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to be flexible and cooperative in a team-based environment.
  • Fluency in the English language both written and oral.
  • Capacity and willingness to learn quickly and independently.
  • Knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, .NET) under a Microsoft environment will be considered a plus.

Position: Associate Faculty in Advertising

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree – The American College of Greece seeks an associate faculty member to teach courses in Advertising. Associate Faculty members teach six courses per year and provide additional service to the department, School and College.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Communication or in related area.
  • Outstanding command of spoken and written English.
  • Potential to engage in scholarly research.
  • Professional experience in Advertising/Communication/Public Relations industry.
  • At least one degree from a US or UK institution.

Knowledge:

  • An understanding of current practices in Corporate and/or Promotional Communication.

General Skills:

Position: Part Time Instructor, Physical Theatres and Movement for Acting

Deree-The American College of Greece is seeking a P-T instructor in the Theatre Arts and Dance Department of the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts.

Required Qualifications:

  • MA degree related to the field of Theatre Arts and Contemporary Performance Practice required. Terminal degree (MFA, PhD) desirable.
  • Required before contract start date: Ministry of Education Faculty registry number
  • Breadth of knowledge of Contemporary Theatre practice, its history and current developments in approaches focusing on developing the performers’ physical awareness, concentration, ensemble skills and emotional states expressed through the entire body.
  • Specialized knowledge in the areas of movement for acting, including knowledge and experience in the teaching of a variety of contemporary approaches to movement for the stage, its main theoreticians and actor training programs.
  • Knowledge of methods and criteria for the assessment of practice-based modules.

Experience:

  • Teaching experience in higher education, preferably at an English speaking institution.
  • Published and/or performance/practice equivalent work in relevant fields.

General Skills:

  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Very good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to support and guide student to research.

Position: College Nurse (Maternity cover)

The ACG Health and Wellness Center is seeking a candidate to cover the position of a full-time nurse, under a 12 month definite term contract (Maternity cover).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical consultation/care for the ACG community including assessment of illness/injuries, basic first aid, referral to further care and counseling on healthy lifestyles.
  • Provide appropriate emergency response and crisis intervention.
  • Carry out administrative tasks, process medical forms in English and Greek
  • Communicate with an ethnically diverse population of all ages individually and in classrooms.
  • Research and write wellness/healthcare literature

Required Qualifications:

  • Four-year university degree in nursing from a Greek/European University or if from a third country recognition from DIKATSA.
  • A nurse permit from the Prefecture of Athens, and registration with the Nurse Association of Greece.
  • Minimum 5 years post registration experience.
  • Updated CPR Training.
  • Able to work independently without the need for personal and direct supervision.
  • Able to work with a diverse population of various ages and cultures.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills in English and Greek.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications and researching on internet.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Must be employable in the European Union/Greece

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in nursing.
  • Experience in Occupational Health and/or Emergency care desired.

Position: Student Retention Officer

Deree – The American College of Greece seeks a qualified person as Student Retention officer. The person who will fill this position will help design and implement strategies for increasing student retention metrics at Deree by helping students in difficulty find their path to graduation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Intense communication with students and their families.
  • Intense communication and cooperation with multiple departments within the College
  • The design and tracking of individualized plans for assisting students to proceed smoothly with their studies.
  • The creation of a set of predictors to identify students at risk.
  • A comprehensive understanding and selective deployment of all ACG value-adding offerings that can be used as means to enhance retention.
  • The ability to understand and work with particular segments of the student population (international, readmitted, certificate minor/parallel studies, freshmen, etc.) and manage their successful retention.
  • The creation of reports and statistics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably through an institution that follows the American system of higher education).
  • Excellent use of both the English and Greek languages (written and spoken).
  • An open and friendly personality with proven people skills.
  • Proven track record in customer service, preferably in education/student services.
