Position: Full-time Faculty in Economics

Deree-The American College of Greece is seeking a full-time faculty member in Economics.
Full-time faculty members teach eight courses per year, engage in scholarship, and are active members of the department, School and College.
Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Economics or related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least one degree from a US or UK accredited institution
  • Teaching experience, preferably at a US or a UK higher education institution.
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language.
  • A strong publications record.

Familiarity with deployment of simulated trading room facilities for teaching and research purposes would be helpful.

General Skills:

Position: Advertising/Mass Communication Faculty

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree – The American College of Greece seeks a faculty member to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Advertising and Mass Communication. FT Faculty members teach the equivalent of eight undergraduate courses per year, engage in scholarly activities, and provide additional service to the department, School and College. Associate faculty members teaching the equivalent of six courses per year and engage in service activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Communication or in related area.
  • Outstanding command of spoken and written English.
  • Potential to engage in scholarly research.
  • Professional experience in Advertising/Communication/Public Relations industry.
  • At least one degree from a US or UK institution.

Knowledge:

  • An understanding of current practices in Advertising or Promotional Communication, including research and theoretical concepts.

General Skills:

  • Knowledge of concepts and historical perspectives in Advertising.
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses in mass communication.

Position: Associate Lecturer in Management

The School of Business & Economics at Deree-The American College of Greece is seeking an Associate Lecturer in Management. Associate Lecturers teach six courses per year, but are not required to engage in scholarly activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Management from an accredited institution. At least one degree from a US or UK accredited institution.
  • Teaching experience, preferably at a US or a UK higher education institution.
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language.

Position: Senior Manager, Art Collection

The American College of Greece seeks an experienced collections professional to oversee the maintenance, documentation, preservation, and research of its art collection, which numbers almost 5.000 works (www.acg.edu). The Collection Senior Manager will also be responsible for the operation of the College’s gallery, display of works on campus, coordination of the annual art exhibition and catalog publication, as well as the collection’s database and occasional curatorial projects. The Manager will be involved in presentations and will work closely with the Art Review Committee, the academic departments and numerous College offices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in arts management, art history, museum or gallery studies, curatorial studies, cultural studies, visual culture studies, art theory or closely related field.
  • Professional experience in arts management or related field and knowledge of modern and contemporary art.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Greek. Interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently or with others. Knowledge of computer databases and computer image files.

The School of Graduate and Professional Education, at Deree-The American College of Greece, is seeking qualified instructors for future openings in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Big Data.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Information Technology or closely related area, with emphasis in either Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing or Big Data.
  • Eligible for Ministry of Education Colleges faculty registration number.

Knowledge:

  • Practical and theoretical knowledge in Machine Learning (e.g. Deep learning, Sequence learning), Natural Language Processing or Big Data (e.g. Apache Hadoop, or Apache Spark, no SQL DBs as applied to Machine Learning and beyond).

Experience:

  • Experience in teaching in higher education.
  • Proven track record as researcher in related areas.

  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence or related degree.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Practical and theoretical knowledge in software development and artificial intelligence. Excellent coding skills in a variety of programing languages.
  • Teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels, ideally at a US or UK higher education institution, in the areas of computer science, artificial intelligence, information technology.
