Position: Full-time Faculty in Advertising/Mass Communication

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree – The American College of Greece seeks a faculty member to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Advertising and Mass Communication.

Full-time Faculty members teach the equivalent of eight undergraduate courses per year, engage in scholarly activities, and provide additional service to the department, School and College.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Communication or in related area.
  • Outstanding command of spoken and written English
  • Potential to engage in scholarly research.
  • Professional experience in Advertising/Communication/Public Relations industry.
  • At least one degree from a US or UK institution.

Knowledge:

  • An understanding of current practices in Advertising or Promotional Communication.

General Skills:

  • Knowledge of concepts and historical perspectives in Advertising.
  • Knowledge of the creative and the client service side of Advertising.
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses in mass communication.
  • Ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
  • Ability to initiate curricular development and deliver effective teaching.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

Position: Full-time Faculty in Economics

Deree-The American College of Greece is seeking a full-time faculty member in Economics.
Full-time faculty members teach eight courses per year, engage in scholarship, and are active members of the department, School and College.
Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Economics or related field from an accredited institution. 
  • At least one degree from a US or UK accredited institution
  • Teaching experience, preferably at a US or a UK higher education institution.
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language.
  • A strong publications record.

Familiarity with deployment of simulated trading room facilities for teaching and research purposes would be helpful.

General Skills:  

  • A commitment to student-centered learning.
  • Very good interpersonal skills.
  • A strong interest in an interdisciplinary approach to economics / finance.
  • Ability to initiate, develop and deliver high quality research.

Position: Visiting Research Scholar

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree -The American College of Greece seeks a visiting scholar who will undertake a research and writing project leading to a volume on the contributions of physicians and biomedical scientists of Greek heritage in the advancement of clinical and experimental Medicine over the last 200 years. This project will lead to publication of a printed and electronic volume.

Project Title: “1821-2021: Greek Pioneers and Innovators in Medicine and Biomedical Sciences

This project is undertaken with the occasion of the 200-year anniversary of the declaration of Greek Independence. It aims to make known the achievements of scientists of Greek heritage in Medicine and Biosciences, and their contributions in the advancement of clinical and experimental medicine. It also aims to identify role models for future practitioners and researchers in these fields.

This is a funded research project supervised by the American College of Greece in collaboration with ARISTEiA-Institute for the Advancement of Research & Education in Arts, Sciences & Technology, and a scientific board made up of prominent Greek biomedical scientists.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate expertise in both History and Medicine or Biosciences.

Duration: One year, with option for extension for one more.

Position: Quality Coordinator – Quality & Accreditations Office
(The Alba Graduate Business School)

The current position seeks for an enthusiastic candidate who will support the effective development, implementation and improvement of the Alba’s quality assurance policies and processes, in order to meet internal (Greek Ministry of Education) and external (international accreditations, international rankings) standards, in alignment with the institutional mission and vision

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required (or equivalent level qualification)
  • 1-3 years of work experience within Higher Education sector will be an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of Greek and English languages (excellent oral and written communication skills).
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and online survey software packages

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data for the development of accreditation reports
  • Monitor and continuously improve the process of the School’s participation in International Rankings.
  • Monitoring of processes regarding ALBA’s Center for Lifelong Learning (ΚΕΔΙΒΙΜ 2) in order to comply with the Greek legislation.
  • Execute, analyze and further develop ALBA’S feedback mechanisms from various stakeholders (students, faculty, etc.)
  • Monitor policy developments in the Greek and international Educational systems in order to be updated and follow current trends in the sector.
