We are pleased to announce that the Fifty-First Deree – The American College of Greece Commencement and the Eleventh Graduate School Commencement will be held at the Deree Track and Field – Aghia Paraskevi Campus on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 20:30.
The Commencement rehearsal will be held on: Friday, June 24, 2016, at 17:00.
Please assemble on the Track & Field bleachers.
Do not bring your cap and gown to the rehearsal.
The rehearsal will last about three hours and attendance will be taken.
Those failing to attend the rehearsal WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE in the COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY.
NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. In case you are in the military or employed and need verification stating that you will be attending the rehearsal and the Commencement Ceremony, please notify the Office of Student Affairs, at +30 210 600 9800/9, ext. 1446.
The rehearsal is essential to ensure a smooth-running and coordinated event.
The ceremony will be held at the Deree Track & Field on Saturday, June 27, 2015.
The ceremony will start promptly at 20:30. Gates to the campus will open at 18:00.
All participants must arrive by 18:30 to allow enough time to register, dress, and lineup.
At this time you will also receive your tassels.
Distribution of Academic regalia (show)
The distribution of academic regalia (cap, gown, and collar), invitations, and guidelines for rehearsal/Commencement will take place at Deree Student Lounge on the following day and hours only:
- Wednesday, June 8, 2016, from 15:00 to 19:00, for ALL graduates
Academic regalia must be picked up in person. Please note that you cannot participate in Commencement if your gown is not picked up on one of these dates.
Dress Regulations (show)
Commencement participants must wear academic regalia:
- black gowns, ankle length (worn over your clothes)
- white collars for women; white shirts and dark neckties (dark blue, dark grey, or black) for men
- black shoes (women should avoid very high heels or shoes with straps)
- caps, flat on the head with tassels on the right side
Invitations will be given to each graduate during the academic regalia distribution day
June 8, 2016, from 15:00 to 19:00.
Each graduate will receive eight invitations.
If you do not anticipate using all of your invitations, you are kindly requested to return them to the Office of Student Affairs by June 13, 2016. Graduates wishing to obtain these additional invitations should call the Office of Student Affairs at 210-600-9800, ext. 1446 on Wednesday, June 15; surplus invitations will be reserved on that day on a first come, first served basis and will be limited depending on the number of surplus invitations available to be allocated.
Guest Seating (show)
Guest seating is not reserved. Please advise your family and friends to arrive on time and to remain in their seats throughout the ceremony. Visitors may enter the campus at 18:00. Seating in the Track and Field area will begin at 19:15.
Photographs and Video (show)
The College has made arrangements for photographs of the ceremony to be taken. An individual photo of each graduate will be taken at the time s/he is receiving his/her degree from the President. The photographs can be ordered by graduating students directly from the College photographer.
In addition, the entire ceremony will be videotaped and a copy of the CD with the video will be sent by the Office of Alumni & Development to the home address of the graduates.
Please note that picture taking and/or videotaping by unauthorized individuals will not be allowed during the ceremony.
