Sandra Katakalea is a Senior Leadership Development Consultant & Executive Coach. A Deree’97 graduate, she is an accomplished HR & Organizational Development professional with expertise in leadership and talent development, change management and HR strategy within high-profile organizations and the higher education. She is an ACC accredited coach by the International Coaching Federation (US) and Career Development Counselor by the National Career Development Association (US), as well as trained mediator and qualified team coach, assisting individuals and teams achieve high performance goals. For the last six years she lives and works at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology in Saudi Arabia which employs over 100 nationalities from all over the world and in addition to her coaching and consulting services, she teaches Intercultural communication, Mindfulness and Conflict Management.

Loren J. Samons II is Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, Executive Director of ACG’s Institute for the Hellenic Culture and the Liberal Arts and Professor of Classical Studies at Boston University.
Citizenship Earned: A Lesson More Important than Democracy
When moderns think of ancient Greek politics they almost invariably cite democracy and government by popular vote as the greatest gift the Hellenes bequeathed to the modern world. Professor Samons argues that this view is both historically inaccurate and demonstrably dangerous and that it has led to a number of political problems faced in contemporary western regimes.
