The Executive Director of the Center of Excellence in Sustainability and Scientific Responsible of the SDG4U Erasmus Project for ACG, Dr. Stella Apostolaki, will present the approach of the SDG4U at the 10th World Sustainability Forum on September 14, Basel – Switzerland. The project is entitled: Proposing a holistic and transformative approach for the promotion of SDGs in higher education institutions.
The presented framework sees universities as Hubs that receive and transmit input from and to the society. Emphasis is placed on stimulating innovative learning and teaching practices through engaging SDGs to transformative education and sustainability practices in universities. It supports and enhances the implementation of SDGs in higher education by embedding sustainability across teaching, research, operations, and community outreach. While the focus is on SDG 4 – Quality Education horizontally, all SDGs are equally addressed in such a way as to expand research and academic offerings to include indicators and processes for holistic sustainable forward-looking teaching.
