Welcome Back COVID-19 Safety Measures

deree covid 19

Dear students,

Wishing you all a warm welcome back to campus for the fall semester! With the health and safety of our community as our top priority we will be following the guidelines set forth by the public authorities for all students, faculty, staff, guests and visitors.

In order to access campus, you must show the guards at the entrances to the College, the QR code either printed or on your phone, from one of the following documents:

  • For individuals who are not fully vaccinated: You will need to take two rapid antigen tests each week (example: Friday and Tuesday or Saturday and Wednesday) and generate the QR code as proof of the test at gov.gr at this specific link.
  • For individuals who are vaccinated: You will need to show proof of vaccination. You can generate the QR code at the gov.gr at this specific link.
  • For individuals who have recovered from the COVID-19: You will need to show proof of recovery. You can generate this QR code from gov.gr at this specific link.

For international students who do not have a Greek Social Security number, please bring printed versions of your vaccination, proof of recovery or test results to the main gate.

As the COVID-19 virus will continue to be a part of our daily lives, we are counting on all members of the ACG Community to follow health and safety protocols. We strongly encourage all ACG members to get vaccinated as the first line of defense in protecting your health, the health of your families and the health of our community. Getting vaccinated, maintaining proper social distances, wearing masks appropriately and observing hand hygiene measures, creates a community of care where we can live and learn in safety.

Masks are required in all spaces indoors, classrooms, labs, bathrooms, hallways, stairwells, and in outdoor areas with many individuals and where social distances of two meters cannot be observed.  It is highly recommended that we keep our masks on at all times when we are near others as the current variants of the virus are extremely contagious.

Our athletic facilities will operate normally under the guidelines set forth by the public authorities. Further information will be issued by the Office of Athletics. It is also our intention to return to a full and vibrant student life again following the guidelines set forth by the public authorities.

When you return to campus, please monitor your health for Covid-19 symptoms daily, including the mildest symptoms of unexplained headache and fatigue.  Please do not come to campus if you have symptoms or have been a close contact of someone who is positive or is being tested for Covid-19.  Call your physician and follow their directions to get a rapid or PCR test and not a self-test. Also please contact ACG Health and Wellness Center, (210 600-9800 ext 1093, 1193, 1500 or [email protected], or through skype at nurse.deree), so they can track and trace exposure to other ACG members and give you permission to return to campus. Once the ACG Health and Wellness Center is aware that an ACG Member is positive, they will call all individuals who are considered close contacts to inform them about proper testing dates, and give them guidance on how to quarantine and answer any questions and concerns they may have.

We continue to follow all recommended guidelines by EODY (Greek National Public Health Organization) & Civil Protection in cleaning and disinfecting the campus on a daily basis with specific disinfection frequently visited common spaces on campus.

Please continue to refer to the dedicated website section to view the most up to date measures we are taking to ensure the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff. Wishing you a healthy fall semester!
