“We are proud to be recognized once again as a ‘Cool School’ by Sierra Magazine for our sustainability efforts. This achievement reflects our commitment to educate our community (students, faculty, and staff) in becoming engaged and responsible citizens and professionals, in order to help create a more socially, economically and environmentally sustainable world”, says Rania Assariotaki, the ACG Senior Sustainability Manager, Office of Public Affairs.
About the ‘Cool Schools’ ranking
Participation to the ranking is open to all four-year undergraduate and graduate colleges and universities, as well as with two-year community colleges. Scores are based on the AASHE STARS reports submitted by the educational institutions.
The scoring system reflects and emphasizes the Sierra Club priorities, such as public engagement, air and climate and energy. The ‘Cool Schools’ ranking aims to inform prospective and current students, faculty, staff and alumni of an institution’s commitment to advancing sustainability.
