Deree & Pierce celebrated this year’s graduation ceremony, which follows the previous tradition and remains as “green” and sustainable as possible. Being faithful to sustainability guidelines, there were no hardcopy invitations or print material and guests were encouraged to carry their own reusable bottles, in order to minimize plastic waste and promote recycling best practices. On these 100% smoke-free Commencements, all types of smoking were prohibited on campus.
Additionally, all graduates signed the “ACG Graduation Sustainability Pledge” and wore the ACG Cares green ribbon on their gowns, signifying their commitment to advancing sustainability outside campus walls, acting as engaged and responsible citizens and professionals, in order to help create a sustainable world.
