Naming ceremony of the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts

The Arts Festival of the School of Fine and Performing Arts opens on March 7, 2014, with the naming ceremony of the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts, in honor of the renowned artist.

The American sculptor, mostly known for her portrait busts and religious figures, had a deep connection to Greece and the American College of Greece. In October 2012, the College received the largest gift in its 137-year history from Frances Rich (1910-2007), a gift allocated to an endowed fund in her name to support ACG's School of Fine and Performing Arts. ACG is tremendously grateful to Frances Rich for her commitment to the future of the College and to the arts, therefore the School of Fine and Performing Arts will be named in her honor.

The Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts naming ceremony will take place concurrently with the opening of the exhibition SelfConscious, curated by Dr Sotirios Bahtsetzis. The exhibition, organized by the Department of Visual Arts and Art History, inaugurates the Arts Festival 2014 and features collaborative projects by the Music and Theatre Arts Departments.
