Dr Eleftheria Bernidaki-Aldous to lecture on Taboos & Barriers Regarding People with Disability

On the occasion of the International and National Day of People with Disability on December 3, Former Greek MP Dr Eleftheria Bernidaki-Aldous will be lecturing on “Breaking Taboos & Barriers Regarding People with Disability: What you wanted to know but were afraid to ask” at DEREE. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 15:00 – 16:00 at DEREE’s John S. Bailey Library, Upper Level, and is open to the public.

Dr Eleftheria Bernidaki-Aldous has devoted herself to the effort to abolish the discrimination that people with disabilities face. She is renowned for her work concerning issues of disability, as a scholar and Professor of Classics, and as Chairwoman of the Committee on Disability in the Hellenic Parliament, where she served as an MP 2004-2007. On December 3, she will talk about the challenges faced daily by people with disabilities in an engaging presentation that aims to break the taboos and openly address the subject.
