ACG is proud to announce that it has been invited to participate in this year’s TEDxAthens as educational partner. As a leading academic institution and due to its strategic commitment to advancing sustainability best practices on campus, ACG makes an excellent fit for this year’s TEDxAthens, themed “The State of X” and focusing on all aspects of sustainability. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the event be held on June 1, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, and will be hosting prominent speakers such as Arun Ghandi, activist and proponent of non-violence, grandson of Mahatma Ghandi, Udayan Prasad, film director and producer, Christopher C. King, Grammy-winning producer, writer & musicologist, Dimitris Lalas, Environmental Engineer, Avner Halperin, co-founder at EarlySense and entrepreneur, Chris Skinner, author and commentator, as well as several other guests from Greece and abroad.
Committed to a cleaner, sustainable future, the mission of TEDxAthens is to inspire mindful use of materials and empower each one of us to make impactful changes that will enhance the environmental quality and well-being of our community. Zero-waste informative practices along with reducing single-use plastic items will be offered during the event.

- Decrease of plastic bottle use
- No use of plastic straws
- Recycling
- Inform the TEDxAthens attendees about sustainability
Thanks to ACG’s partnership with TEDxAthens, more than 20 Deree students will enjoy a unique opportunity to participate as volunteers by providing event coverage before and during the event, attending talks, hosting journalists and speakers. Students will become exposed to an overall experience and mentality, exchange views, network and interact with innovative-minded, influential people that will surprise, delight and inspire them.
