Join us for a captivating evening of cinematic exploration of the award-winning feature film documentary, “Final Year,” directed by esteemed Deree alumnus Lucas Paleocrassas. This event promises not only a thought-provoking cinematic experience but also an exclusive opportunity to engage with the director himself through a Q&A. 

Language of the Screening: Greek with English subtitles

The event is open to the public, tailored for students in the fields of Cinema Studies, Communication, Sociology, Visual and Performing Arts, and Psychology. 

About the director

Lucas Paleocrassas is a Greek filmmaker based in Athens, Greece. He holds a BA in Communications (Film & TV, Journalism) from The American College of Greece and the Open University UK. He is a recipient of Libra Group’s Internship program that earned him post-graduate work for the production company Principal Media in Los Angeles. He has directed documentaries for television and cinema that have been screened at international festivals and major educational institutions like the University of Rome and the NYU. His feature documentary “Final Year”, co-produced by ANEMON and the Greek Film Centre, was screened in competition at the 24th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and received the Best Feature Documentary Award at the Olympia International Film Festival. His latest work is an episodic social documentary on the actions of the Active Citizens Fund Greece, managed by the Bodossaki Foundation and SolidarityNow. He has been awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship by ARTWORKS in 2022.
