Abstract
In this Faculty Research Seminar, research work on different aspects of education with emphasis on STEM disciplines will be presented. Active learning is a main axis of all this work which focuses on teaching and learning aspects in higher education, and especially in STEM disciplines. Themes that will be discussed include: active and collaborative learning, assessment, capstone projects, virtual and augmented reality in teaching, game-based learning, co-teaching and education for sustainability. The main goal of this research work is to propose a new vision for higher education based on a systematic study of parameters that affect teaching and learning in STEM.
