About the event
The Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts and the Music Department of the American College of Greece have the pleasure to invite you to a concert entitled Bel Canto / Canto Soave: Italian Vocal Music from the Early Baroque into the Early Romantic Period.
The ladies of Canto Soave (sweet singing) seek the roots of Bel Canto (beautiful singing), in the masterpieces of 17th century Italian monody and follow its blooming through the compositions of the Early Romantic period. Compositions for one, two and three voices by G. Caccini, L. Luzzaschi, C. Monteverdi, G.F. Handel, G. Paisiello, G. Donizetti, V. Bellini and G. Rossini will be accompanied by period instruments. The ensemble consists of Maira Milolidaki and Natassa Angelopoulou sopranos, Effi Minakoulis mezzo soprano – theorbo, Katerina Ktona cembalo.
The event will be held in the Black Box Theater on Wednesday November 30 at 19.00. Refreshments will be offered after the end of the concert.
