Dr. Sofia Konstantinopoulou MD, FAAP, a Pierce College Alumna, serves as the Director of Clinical Education, International Business Intelligence (I.B.I.) which is managing the training topics of postgraduate students related to risk management/innovation, regulatory, managing emerging risks in innovation and new technologies and intellectual property (IP) rights.

The DECODE project aims to build a multidisciplinary community of international scholars who are pioneers in their field, and who will have the opportunity to present their work in an academic and ever-growing forum, while fostering networking opportunities and building collaborations with key industry stake holders. The program will mainly take place among others, at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and The American College of Greece main campus, all in Athens, Greece, during June 2023, while the post graduate students will also visit hospitals and other private and public institutions.

Deree – The American College of Greece on June 23, 2023 will host the following lectures:

12:30-13:00| Mr. Apostolos Karoutis: ”Urine metabolic profile of breast vs. formula- fed neonates using a symbiotic-enriched formula”

DECODE – Overview:

DECODE is an E.U. – Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 956470, started in December 2021, and expected to end in December 2024.

DECODE focuses on the training of young scientists on the use of drug-eluting devices to combat the burden of peripheral artery disease (PAD).

DECODE provides young researchers with excellent scientific, technological and complementary skills through a multidisciplinary training programme having as an outmost scientific aim the development, optimization, and assessment of a drug eluting balloon system for the improved treatment of PAD.

The project beneficiaries include high profile institutions, including the Université de Montpellier (France), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), and University of Ioannina (Greece), while the project partners are well-established companies & institutions such as Boston Scientific (U.S.A.), CBSET (USA), BRFAA (Greece), Exelixis (Greece), AGH University of Science and Technology Krakow (Poland) and University of Kragujevac (Serbia).

Scope and benefits for participation: Participants will be asked to give a 30-60 minute presentation, and will be given   a chance to expand their network while interacting, not only with junior investigators, but also with senior faculty, who are experts in their field. They will also be able to engage with various stakeholders of this EU funded project, which aims to forge collaborations between physicians, scientists and academics: https://www.decodeitn.eu
