A seminar on the different sources of environmental radiation and how these agents damage the genetic material inside our cells. Learn more about ionizing radiation and UV-light and how these affect the integrity of our cells.
Speaker: Alexandros Georgakilas
Prof Georgakilas is a Professor at the School of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences at the National Technical University of Athens. He is a biophysicist, with an expertise on radiobiology and the effects of ionizing radiation on biological systems.
