Sophia Zevgoli has been a member of the Department of English and Modern Languages faculty since 2007. She has taught courses in linguistics, academic writing and Modern Greek as a second language. She is currently the Director of the Language and Culture Programs in the Center for Academic Enrichment.

Dr Zevgoli has taught at various institutions in Greece. She additionally taught seminars on teaching and learning foreign languages in the graduate program of the Department of Primary Education, University of Athens. Furthermore, she delivered seminars on professional communication for the ACG School of Continuing and Professional Studies and the Institute of Education, National Centre for Public Administration and Self-Governance. In her capacity as a Scientific Associate of the General Secretariat for Adult Education, Ministry of National Education, she was responsible for designing and implementing EU-funded language programs. She also worked as an Education Counselor of the Institute for Continuing Adult Education, Ministry of Education, where she organized adult education courses.

Her academic interests lie in the areas of second/foreign language teaching and learning, syntax and semantics, sociolinguistics, communication and adult education. She has published in these areas and has delivered papers in national and international conferences and workshops. She is a member of TESOL Greece and the Greek Applied Linguistics Association (GALA).
