Sophia Zevgoli has been a member of the Department of English and Modern Languages faculty since 2007. She has taught courses in linguistics, academic writing, English for academic purposes and Modern Greek as a second language. After having served as Director of the Language and Culture Programs and the International Honors Program for a number of years, she is currently Assistant Director of the Institute for Hellenic Culture and the Liberal Arts (IHCLA).

Dr Zevgoli has taught at various institutions in Greece. She additionally taught seminars on teaching and learning foreign languages in the graduate program of the Department of Primary Education, University of Athens. Furthermore, she delivered seminars on professional communication for the ACG School of Continuing and Professional Studies and the Institute of Education, National Centre for Public Administration and Self-Governance. In her capacity as a Scientific Associate of the General Secretariat for Adult Education, Ministry of National Education, she was responsible for designing and implementing EU-funded language programs. She also worked as an Education Counselor of the Institute for Continuing Adult Education, Ministry of Education, where she organized adult education courses.

Her academic interests lie in the areas of second/foreign language teaching and learning, syntax and semantics, vocabulary, and adult education. She has published in these areas and has delivered papers in national and international conferences and workshops.
