Sofoklis Efremidis, Ph.D. is a faculty member of the ACG, teaching at the Data Science Program of the Graduate School. He has been Professor and Head of the Software Systems Group at Athens Information Technology until December 2019. He has an Electrical Engineering Degree from National Technical University of Athens, Greece and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science, Cornell University, U.S.A. He has worked in several EU Research and Development as well as national and industrial projects. He has been instructor in both academic and professional education courses in a number of IT subjects. His research interests are in the areas of distributed dependable computing, cybersecurity and risk assessment of critical infrastructures, blockchains and applications, Big Data, Internet of Things and applications, Agile Software Engineering, and Formal Methods. He is the author of several publications and book chapters in related subjects. He is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
