Panagiotis Palaios is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Deree – The American College of Greece. He previously taught at National School of Public Administration and Harokopio University of Athens.He has taught macroeconomics, microeconomics and maritime economics.
His main research activities focus on public goods, with special interest in defense, public choice and maritime economics, with emphasis on modelling asymmetric behavior. His published articles have appeared in academic journals, such as the Scottish Journal of Political Economy, Empirical Economics and Defence and Peace Economics.
In addition to his teaching Panagiotis has served as Financial and Supply Officer of the Hellenic Navy, up to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, in various positions, among them as head economic advisor to the Deputy Minister of National Defense (2019-2022).
