 Panagiotis Palaios is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Deree – The American College of Greece. He previously taught at National School of Public Administration and Harokopio University of Athens. He has taught economics of conflict and security, macroeconomics, microeconomics, and maritime economics.

 His research focuses on the economics of conflict and security, with emphasis on alliance cohesion, public choice, and the political economy of defense. A secondary stream of his research explores maritime economics.

 In addition to his teaching, Panagiotis has served as Financial and Supply Officer of the Hellenic Navy, up to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, in various positions, among them as head economic advisor to the Deputy Minister of National Defense (2019–2022).
