Dr.Myrto-Maria Ranga is an expert (PhD) in the field of Psychology Gerontology. Since 2009, she has been actively engaged as member of the Scientific Committee of “50plus Hellas”, the 1st Greek NGO for the rights of older people and has served as CEO until 2023.
She is currently Member of the Administrative Board. She has managed and/or coordinated 8 ERASMUS+/GRUNDVIG projects, and several other EU-Projects (EUSTACEA, WEDO, 4F for Silver Safety), as well as national projects in Germany and Greece concerning aging issues such as ICT courses for people over 50 (“Access to the Digital World” Project, “The Knowledge Volunteers Project”, the “Learning Games for older Europeans” – LEAGE project), the activation and participation of older people in the society, life-long learning projects and research projects on age-friendly technologies and environments.
She has collaborated with the Research Office of Applied Sociology and the Institute of Geragogy FOGERA in the project “Altengerechte Stadt-Das Handbuch” (Age Friendly City- The Handbook) with the support of the Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Integration of North Rhine Westafalia in Germany. Founding member of the Lifelong Development Center DIA VIOU EXELIXI, for psychological support, counseling, psychotherapy, myragogy, gerontology, geragogy. Collaborator of the Akademie für Menschliche Begleitung in Essen Germany in grief seminars and active member of the European Working Group of Geragogists and serves as an aging expert on AGE PLATFORM EUROPE, the European NGO of people over 50, representing more than 40million older citizens.
