Dr. Voutsinas is the Principal Investigator (Researcher grade A’), IBA, NCSR “Demokritos”, Head of Laboratory of Molecular Carcinogenesis and Rare Disease Genetics and Head of Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics of Genetic Diseases of NCSR “Demokritos”. His research interests include: (1) Molecular profile analysis of neoplastic tumors for the development and validation of cancer biomarkers, as well as for determination and evaluation of cellular targets for cancer therapy; and (2) Studies on pathogenesis and molecular diagnosis of human genetic diseases. He has published 54 research papers in international scientific journals with judges (average score of 3,765, total number of citations 1,012, h-factor 18), 5 articles as book chapters, 108 papers in conference proceedings. He has also been a scientific officer or collaborator of 15 research projects and has been a reviewer of Greek and International research proposals for research funding, a validator of research projects of the Greek General Secretariat of Research and Technology and a reviewer of scientific articles in at least 20 international scientific journals. He has supervised 4 postdoctoral assistants, 16 doctoral students, 7 postgraduate students, 9 candidate students, and has trained more than 30 internship students. He has taught and continues to do so at all education levels (high school, university, postgraduate master courses), while he also teaches the courses “Introduction to Molecular Biology” and “Environmental Health” at the American College of Greece (Deree, 2007-today).
