Dr. Drakakis joined the Department of Information Technology at the American College of Greece in September 2018. He is currently teaching Machine Vision and Semantic Web for the MS in Data Science, as well as Data Mining and Big Data at undergraduate level.

His research interests include machine learning, data mining, cheminformatics, and machine vision. After obtaining the EPSRC Doctoral Prize, Dr. Drakakis worked as a research associate for a combined 3.5 years at NTUA and the University of Cambridge. He has recently co-authored 15 research publications in these fields and contributed to 2 book chapters. Dr. Drakakis is currently the CEO of the in silico drug repurposing company Purposeful.

He is also a member of ACG’s Research, Technology & Innovation Network.
