Evgenia Vagianou joined the American College of Greece in 1992. She is now faculty of Information Technology in the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, teaching in the pathway of Software Development. Her main research interest is in external representations, as they relate to problem solving and the learning process. Her current research span threshold concepts in learning programming, teaching and learning practices and curriculum development for virtual learning environments, and factors of the overall student experience that significantly contribute to the learning process.

Professor Vagianou has lead several projects, topped by the implementation and administration of the Blackboard Learning System across the ACG, a responsibility which commenced in 2003 and she maintained until 2012. She also served as the Head of the CIS department from 2008 to 2010, and Director of Academic Computing from 2010 to 2012.
