This two-day webinar follows the postponement of the 1st Global Politics Summer Academy, which would take place in Athens by the Institute of Global Affairs of the American College of Greece and ELIAMEP, due to Covid-19.
On the first day of the webinar, a panel of distinguished academics and policy experts from Europe and the region will discuss the key issues characterizing the post-pandemic security landscape of the Eastern Mediterranean, the strategies adopted by state actors and international organizations for managing the migration challenge, the role of Greece as a “pivot to stability” and the prospects for cooperation in the region.
On the second day, the “Ambassadors Forum”, a panel dedicated to a discussion among the Ambassador of the United States, the Ambassador of Israel, the Ambassador of Cyprus and a high-level representative of the Greek Diplomatic Corps, on the “Geopolitics of Energy in the Eastern Mediterranean” and the region’s role in becoming a catalyst for cooperation and stability, will take place.
The webinar would be of interest to Embassy officials, policy practitioners, representatives of military academies, NGOs and/or media and undergraduate and graduate students of public and private universities.
