Bio

Dimitris Delacovias ( IMDb Profile )

VFX artist working between UK and Greece, who’s credits include Inception, Dark Night and Captain America. Specialties: Digital Matte Painting, Concept art, Photography and Art Direction for Digital Matte Painting FX.

Dimitri’s work included studio and location supervision for Dr Who, The Tripods and The Prisoner of Zenda remake, where he helped develop new post production matte painting techniques and probably did the first digital matte paintings – albeit for TV – in the world, using the Quantel Paintbox in 1983. Joined MPC in 1984 as Snr VFX Designer/Paint Box artist.  In 1989 he was Head of Graphics for the first independent TV channel in Greece. In 1995, back in the UK he switched to film VFX after joining the Magic Camera Co. and then Double Negative in 2000. From 2003, he held the Digital Matte Painting Master Class at Bournemouth University for 7 years.
