ACG Renews ISO 50001 Certification for Energy Management System and Achieves ISO14064 Greenhouse Gas Emission Certification!

The American College of Greece (ACG) is pleased to announce its successful renewal of the ISO 50001 Certification for its Energy Management System, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to energy efficiency. This renewal comes three years after the initial Certification was awarded.

ACG has continued its dedication to establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving its Energy Management System across the AP Campus and all ACG Facilities, with the renewal effective as of July 2023. The third-party Auditor, TUV Austria, Certification Body, conducted a reassessment on July 25th, 2023, resulting in the renewed Certification.

In addition to the ISO 50001 Certification renewal, ACG is proud to have received certification for monitoring, managing, and improving the College’s performance in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions management, in accordance with the EN ISO 14064-1:2018 Greenhouse Gas Emission Data Management International Standard. The ISO 14064-1 standard provides a framework for calculating and reporting/disclosing GHG emissions in organizations seeking to quantify and reduce GHG emissions. This achievement underlines ACG’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, contributing to a positive social impact, and enhancing transparency and accountability in its daily operations. Both certifications are valid until 2026.

These certifications align directly with President Horner’s 2025 vision and ACG’s sustainability strategy. ACG’s commitment to energy management and greenhouse gas emissions reduction is aligned with the National and European legislation, international best practices, and has the valuable participation and support of the entire ACG community, including students, faculty, and staff.

ACG remains dedicated to its mission of fostering a sustainable, energy-efficient environment while making a positive contribution to our planet.
