ACG Expresses Gratitude to Aldous Family for their Generous Donation to the Centennial Fund

The American College of Greece (ACG) extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Aldous Family for celebrating with us 100 years of presence in Greece by becoming a PATRON benefactor of our 100th Anniversary Gala Dinner, which took place on December 1st, 2023, thus leveraging education for individual, economic, cultural, and social impact.

The Aldous Family connects with ACG in many ways. Four out of the five members of the Aldous family are ACG alumni. The family’s mother figure, Dr. Eleftheria Bernidaki Aldous, paved the way as the first visually impaired student admitted to Pierce. Dr. Bernidaki-Aldous defied discrimination and adverse legislation in Greece to receive an education at Pierce. Her journey not only propelled her toward a very successful academic career but also transformed her into a dynamic human rights advocate. In her honor, her son Alexandros Aldous, also a Pierce alumnus, established The Aldous Family Accessibility Expendable Scholarship, created to support promising students who are legally blind and demonstrate strong academic performance.

Their generous donation to the Centennial Fund will further expand the scholarship support they offer in support of ACG students, leading to positive social and economic change.

Thank you, Aldous Family, for sharing our educational vision and for being a valuable partner as well as an inspirational donor!
