Greek MP Dora Bakoyannis, who has served as Greek foreign minister and mayor of Athens, will be speaking at The American College of Greece on “Developments in the Middle East and the Persecution of Christians” on Thursday, November 20 at 1:40 pm.
Ms Bakoyannis, an MP for the New Democracy party, also chairs the Committee of Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She served as minister of foreign affairs from 2006-2009 – the first woman in Greece’s history – and was elected the first woman mayor of Athens in 2002, getting the city ready for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Organized by The American College of Greece’s Institute of Diplomacy & Global Affairs in collaboration with DEREE-ACG’s School of Business, the lecture will take place at the John S. Bailey Library, Upper Level at the Ag. Paraskevi campus at 6 Gravias Street.
