For the first time in its 62-year-old history, documenta, the renowned exhibition of modern and contemporary art that traditionally takes place in Kassel, Germany, will run in parallel in Athens, promoting an open artistic dialogue between the two cities. The art world of Athens is already preparing to host such an important exhibition with workshops, events, and individual shows.
Our students from the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts have been introduced to the concept of the dual exhibition, which is running with the working title “Documenta 14: Learning from Athens,” and under the artistic direction of Adam Szymczyk.
With the aim to learn from documenta, students of the Visual Arts and the Art History programs were invited to participate in a workshop in collaboration with the documenta exhibition’s Educational Team and its Director Sepake Angiama.
