Fotini Georgousi

Fotini Georgousi started working at Deree in 1995. She teaches English Literature, Professional Communication, Writing and Research courses, and a Freshman Seminar course.

Dr Georgousi holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis; her dissertation examines the locus of women in Greek tragedy. Her MA thesis from the same institution examines film and drama in the light of psychoanalysis. Finally, she holds a BA from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota; she studied English literature as well as Norwegian language and literature; her BA thesis examines Knut Hamsun’s novels as modernist texts.

Dr Georgousi is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, University of Minnesota Chapter, and an Honorary member of Classics Society of Eta Sigma Phi, Delta Chi Chapter. Dr Georgousi has presented her work in both drama and film in the US and at DEREE. She is currently working on the tragic locus in women in Shakespeare as well as on modern drama.
