About the event
A captivating music-theatre performance celebrating the life and music of Frédéric Chopin, the legendary Romantic composer, whose extraordinary gift transformed the piano into a voice of profound beauty and emotional depth. Through melodies of exquisite sensitivity and timeless grace, Chopin gave musical expression to the innermost depths of the human soul, creating masterpieces that continue to enchant, inspire, and move audiences across generations.
Blending the arts of theatre and music, this extraordinary production brings Chopin’s world to life through his diaries, personal notes, travels, artistic journey, passionate love affairs, turbulent life experiences, and the inspirations behind his timeless music.
The production has earned critical acclaim as a ‘jewel of theatrical and musical artistry’, tracing “a compelling journey from the melancholic compositions and extraordinary life of Romanticism’s foremost musical voice to a hybrid, multimedia performance that explores the power of collective memory” (To Vima, 2026).
The story begins in Warsaw, where a young Frédéric Chopin is forced to flee a city engulfed in flames and subsequently occupied by Russian forces. With little more than his handwritten scores and his father’s blessing, he sets out on a journey that will shape both his life and art. Boarding a train bound first for Vienna and ultimately for Paris, Chopin ventures into the great musical capitals of Europe, spreading his wings in pursuit of artistic freedom, creative fulfilment, and a dream that reaches far beyond his homeland. It is the beginning of a remarkable journey of discovery and transformation, as a gifted young composer seeks his place in the world and dares to give voice to the music within him.
With his dreams as his compass and music as his voice, Chopin ventures into the vibrant cultural capitals of Europe, where his extraordinary talent will soon captivate the world. His extraordinary talent soon mesmerizes the most prestigious musical circles and aristocratic salons of Paris, where music, art, and ideas converged and the great minds of the age gathered. There he encounters some of the era’s most influential intellectuals and artists, including Victor Hugo, Eugène Delacroix, Honoré de Balzac, Hector Berlioz, Heinrich Heine, George Sand, and Franz Liszt. But behind the rise of a musical genius lies a deeply human story of longing, passion, exile, and the relentless pursuit of a dream. Beyond the applause, the admiration, and the glittering salons, lay a more intimate story… What secrets, passions, and inner struggles shaped the man whose music would touch the soul of the world?
