Stella Smerou-Fox
Business Development Director, AECOM

Stella Smerou Fox is a Civil Engineer (NTUA) and holds an MSc Dic in Concrete Structures from Imperial College. She was a Legacy URS Country Manager for Greece and currently Business Development Director for AECOM and Project Director for the 2 Motorways Concessions in Greece, where AECOM is the Independent Engineer. She runs the operation, liaising with the AECOM global resource to identify, win and deliver services across a diverse range of projects, which to date cover major road, rail, power, water, mining and building works. She has been involved with the initiation and coordination of the firm’s numerous assignments in Greece. As a result, she has experience in marketing of the firm, analysis of macroeconomics for potential opportunities and specific experience of master planning; financial modeling; environmental studies; permit issues; liaisons with stakeholder; tariff studies; infrastructure and formulation of development proposals for infrastructure projects. She speaks Italian German and English. Her early career started as Freelance Engineer in Design and Construction Supervision of private and industrial buildings. Furthermore, with family owned business, she was responsible for the promotion and installation of the underfloor and wall heating as well as cooling system, to several private and commercial building on behalf of the Company.

Following graduation, she worked with Ove Arup & Partners, London as a Structural Designer of major projects, taking over the coordination of Services with all disciplines  in Toyota factory in Derbyshire.
