Meet February’s Sustainability Face: Ramatulai Sow
Ramatulai Sow is a Deree student studying Biomedical Sciences and a member of the ACG Sustainability Leaders, originally from Sierra Leone, with a strong interest in sustainability and volunteering. Alongside her academic journey, Ramatulai enjoys cooking, computing, swimming, and gymnastics.
Her introduction to Sustainability at ACG came through experiential learning. Ramatulai participated in the Meaningful Engagement Trip in April 2025, organized in collaboration with Ecogenia to Lithochoro, Mount Olympus, focusing on sustainability and eco-management of forest ecosystems and wildlife. Reflecting on the experience, she describes it as the best trip she has had since coming to Greece, highlighting the welcoming environment and the impact of learning directly from sustainability leaders.
Ramatulai has also taken part in sustainability meetings and a plastic waste workshop, which encouraged her to recycle at home and become more mindful of everyday waste management practices.
In addition, she strongly supports the Boroume at the Farmers’ Market initiative, powered by ACG, appreciating its focus on kindness, solidarity, and support for those in need, all values that resonate deeply with her.
“I don’t have lots of experience yet, but with time I know I can do better,” Ramatulai shares, reflecting a mindset of growth and continuous learning.
Through her academic journey and growing engagement with sustainability initiatives, Ramatulai represents the power of early involvement and openness to learning as key drivers of positive change!
