The Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges: 2026 Edition has been officially published, and The American College of Greece (ACG) is proud to be featured for the eighth time among prestigious environmentally responsible colleges and universities.
The 2026 edition profiles 388 institutions selected from a pool of 401 colleges and universities surveyed by The Princeton Review. Colleges are evaluated on a Green Rating scale from 60 to 99, based on their exemplary sustainability-related policies, practices, and programs. Only those scoring 80 or higher qualify for inclusion in the Guide.
With a perfect Green Rating of 99 out of 99, ACG once again demonstrates its deep-rooted commitment to sustainability, integrating environmental and social responsibility across academics, operations, student life, planning and administration, and community engagement.
“Being recognized by The Princeton Review for the eighth year highlights ACG’s unwavering dedication to sustainability as a shared community value,” said Rania Assariotaki, Director, Office of Sustainability – Public Affairs. “This recognition reflects the collective efforts of our students, faculty, and staff to create a more sustainable campus and inspire meaningful change beyond it. We’re honored to stand alongside leading institutions around the world, such as Yale, Stanford, Princeton, and Cornell, and remain committed to pushing sustainability forward every day.”
This year, the Guide highlights 388 colleges, selected primarily based on data from the company’s surveys of administrators at the colleges in 2024–25. The Princeton Review also surveyed students attending the colleges about their experiences at their schools, including administrator and student support for environmental awareness and conservation efforts on the campus.
ACG is among only 33 Colleges and Universities outside of the U.S. and Canada, and one of 6 in Europe, featured in the list. The College also stands among the prestigious 37 that have achieved the highest possible score of 99, securing a place in The Princeton Review’s Green Honor Roll as well as in the company’s book, The Best 391 Colleges (August 12, 2026).
The College’s rating in the 2026 Guide stems from the most recent AASHE STARS® Report in June 2023, for which ACG received its second consecutive STARS® Gold Rating.
ACG’s continued recognition in The Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, supported by the coordination and guidance of the Office of Sustainability – Public Affairs in reporting, initiatives, and partnerships.
“Since we debuted our Green Guide in 2010, we have seen dramatic growth in the number of colleges committing to sustainability practices—from constructing green-certified buildings to sourcing food locally,” said Rob Franek, Editor-in-Chief, The Princeton Review. “We applaud each one of the colleges that made our Guide’s 2026 edition, and we highly recommend these schools to students who want their ‘best-fit’ college to also be a green one.”
