ACG Featured in the 1st Hellenic Impact Report!

The American College of Greece (ACG) has been featured for its academic and social impact in the inaugural Hellenic Impact Report, launched earlier this year by the Hellenic Impact Investing Network (HIIN), Greece’s official national platform for Impact Investing.

ACG is highlighted in the “Academic Institutions, Think Tanks, and Impact Knowledge Actors” section of the report, alongside leading academic institutions such as the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), the University of Piraeus, and the National Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), as well as prominent think tanks like Dianeosis and impactful organizations including Wise Greece.

“We are honored to be featured in the inaugural Hellenic Impact Report by HIIN. This recognition underscores The American College of Greece’s deep-rooted commitment to sustainability and social impact”, says Rania Assariotaki, Director, Office of Sustainability – Public Affairs. “Through our holistic approach—embedding ESG principles across our academic programs, operations, and community initiatives—we empower our students and stakeholders to lead with purpose and contribute meaningfully to a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future.”

This recognition reflects ACG’s holistic, 360-degree approach to sustainability, embedding environmental, social, and governance topics across both academic curricula and institutional strategy. From interdisciplinary programs such as the Minor in Sustainable Economics and Finance, and experiential learning opportunities to initiatives such as the ACG Goes Plastic Free campaign and several community service activities, the College equips students with the tools to lead more sustainable lives while developing key hard and soft skills to co-create a more sustainable future.

“The inclusion of ACG in the first Hellenic Impact Report demonstrates the strong institutional commitment to sustainability and impact-driven education, integrating these principles across academics, operations, and partnerships”, highlights Giannis Vikas, Associate Professor, Deree – The American College of Greece. “ACG, through the integration of relative academic programs as the Minor of Sustainable Economics and Finance, equips future professionals with the necessary knowledge and critical thinking to lead in a sustainability-driven economy and prepares students to address global social and environmental challenges through the lens of economics and finance.”

The 1st Hellenic Impact Report represents the first coordinated effort to map, analyze, and benchmark the Greek impact investing ecosystem and is the result of the 2024 research in collaboration with HIIN’s industry partners, drawing on targeted surveys, ecosystem mapping, and qualitative interviews with investors and startups.
