Last night, Thursday July 9, we celebrated this year’s deserving students and awarded them for their academic and student-life achievements at the Deree Student Awards Ceremony 2020.
In this proud occasion for the entire ACG community, students as well as ACG faculty and staff gathered at the Irene Bailey Theater to celebrate on an evening dedicated to honoring achievements and relationships, as President Horner said referring to the contribution of educators and peers in each student’s accomplishment. From the Internship, and Study Abroad awards, to the Society of the Year and College Life Spirit awards, 46 students were cheered on for their accomplishments in sports, parallel study, scholarships, and so much more from their experience at Deree!
The Ceremony opened with Lucy Kanatsouli, Dean of Enrollment.
“Tonight, we take the time to call into the limelight the best and brightest. We applaud student effort and celebrate our students’ achievement in the areas of academic excellence, professional accomplishment, athletic performance, global experiences, and engagement and leadership in Deree Student Life. Although these are challenging times for all, it is during such times when people rise above expectations and achieve amazing things.”
The 2020 Student Awards Ceremony highlighted the accomplishments of students who shone academically, creatively, and morally this year; students who have made the most out of their experience at Deree by challenging themselves, and who have made a lasting difference as active members of the ACG community.
