On Monday, May 25th, 2026, Deree students, ACG staff, and alumni joined forces at Loulis Food Ingredients in Keratsini for the 8th consecutive year of ACG’s annual baking volunteer initiative.
Organized by the Office of Sustainability – Public Affairs and supported by the ACG Sustainability Leaders, the initiative brought members of the ACG community together for a day of service, preparing and packaging 147 soft cookies under the guidance of professional pastry chefs and Bread Sommelier, Dimitris Fragkogiannis.
“Chocolate chips, teamwork, and a good cause. That’s our recipe for success,” shared Pinelopi Tsiopou, Deree Graduate Student and President, Deree Graduate Student Association (GSA).
The baked treats were donated through Boroume to Social & Educational Action and the Support Center for Children & Family (Κοινωνική & Εκπαιδευτική Δράση & Κέντρο Συμπαράστασης Παιδιών & Οικογένειας), organizations that support children and families in need through the provision of essential goods, educational assistance, and social care services.
Volunteers were welcomed by Ms. Lida Malikentzou, ESG & Communication Manager, who introduced participants to the company and its longstanding commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
“Organizing this initiative for the eighth consecutive year is truly meaningful, because it shows how a simple act — coming together to bake — can become a powerful expression of care and solidarity. Through ACG’s Community Service Day, our students, staff, and alumni experience firsthand that sustainability is not only about environmental responsibility, but also about supporting people and strengthening communities,” highlights Rania Assariotaki, ACG Sustainability Director, Office of Sustainability – Public Affairs. “My heartfelt thanks go to Loulis Food Ingredients, Boroume, and all our dedicated volunteers for helping us turn teamwork into positive social impact. Because ACG Cares!”
Beyond the baking activity, volunteers had the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of the Loulis Museum, enriching the experience with insights into the company’s heritage, values, and contribution to the Greek food sector.
A heartfelt thank you to Loulis Food Ingredients for generously hosting this initiative year after year, providing the ingredients, facilities, and expertise to make it possible. We also extend our gratitude to all ACG volunteers whose enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment helped make this year’s event another success.
Because ACG Cares!
