On Wednesday, June 22, we celebrated this year’s amazing students and recognized their outstanding academic and student-life achievements at the Deree Student Awards Ceremony 2022.
The entire ACG community – faculty, staff, and students – gathered at the Irene Bailey Theater to celebrate and honor the achievements of Deree students. From the Society of the Year, and Artistic Achievement awards, to the Global Citizenship and Community Service awards, 60 students were cheered by family and friends for their achievement in the areas of academic excellence, professional accomplishment, athletic performance, global experiences, and engagement and leadership in Deree Student Life.
The Ceremony opened with a welcoming address by Lucy Kanatsouli, Dean of Enrollment and Students:
“We take the time to call into the limelight the best and brightest. The meaning of the Deree Student Awards is found in our College’s mission and vision: to add distinctive and sustainable value to our students and to Greece.”
During the special event, our students were honored with awards in 21 categories, including the Outstanding Graduating Student, International Honors, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Scholar, Internship Achievement, Health & Wellness, Emerging Leader and Athletics awards.
President David G. Horner presented the awards of College Life Leadership and Deree Spirit, awarded to seniors who excelled in leadership and exemplify the spirit of Deree as a dedicated member of the ACG community.
The 2022 Student Awards Ceremony aims to acknowledge, honor and recognize students who exemplify all types of excellence — whether it’s because someone made the most out of their experience at Deree by challenging themselves, left a lasting mark as active members of the ACG community, or shone brightly academically, creatively or were just an all-around wonderful human being.
