Deree Spirit Song competition

The Office of Athletics in collaboration with the Music Department of the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts is announcing a competition for the composition of the “Deree Spirit Song” to be performed during games and major College events.

The song, which should be approx. 3 minutes in length, should include wording related to Deree, ACG, the Griffins, as well as Blue and White.

It should be an original composition (music, lyrics) to inspire pride, sportsmanship, positive energy, determination, devotion, and confidence, aiming to “pump up” the fans, Deree teams, and students. The beat and style should have a dynamism aiming at instilling such enthusiasm.

Eligibility: All Deree students (individual or teamwork). All will be supervised by the Music Department.

Requirements: Scores and/or audio demo should be submitted to: Ms. Leslie Jones, Head of the Music Department, [email protected] by December 20.

Submission deadline: January 14, 2020. A committee comprising of ACG members will evaluate all submissions.

Recognition: The winner of the competition will win a dinner and tickets for a cultural event at “Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall”. Additionally, the Music Society will receive a 500€ donation.

Copyright of music and lyrics will belong to The American College of Greece and the composer.
