Deree at the Delphi Economic Forum 2023

For the eighth consecutive year, ACG attended the Delphi Economic Forum VIII held April 26-29, 2023. Under the coordination of the ACG Office of Public Affairs, a group of 42 Deree students, including a number of Parallel Study students, enjoyed the unique opportunity to attend a plethora of Forum sessions, get exposed to new developments in a variety of sectors, hear innovative ideas and network with high-level speakers and global leaders. In parallel, this year, Deree, a Programming Partner, participated in multiple panels: Vice President of Academic Affairs, Panos Vlachopoulos, on a panel on the future of higher education, Vice Chair of the ACG Board of Trustees, Deborah Wince-Smith, on a panel on Greece as an educational hub, the Director of the ACG Institute of Global Affairs, Professor Constantinos Filis, on two panels for the East Med and the European Integration, and Professor Kelly Gerakoudis, on a panel for women leaders in the shipping industry.

However, the highlight of this year’s participation was the attendance of three Deree students as speakers on a panel with former Prime Minister of Greece, George Papandreou. Pavlina Bita, Alexandros-Marios Konstantes and Dionysis Fotopoulos, discussed Democracy, youth aspirations and values, and the ways of motivating young people to become more engaged with politics. Feeling honored, the students thanked the College for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
