Susan Stetson-Tiligadas

Susan Stetson-Tiligadas is an Associate Professor at Deree – The American College of Greece, where she has been teaching since 2006. She holds a PhD in Education, specializing in Instructional Design for Online Learning. She teaches graduate courses in the MA TESOL and Learning Design and Technology programs, with a focus on pedagogy, learning design, educational technology, and the integration of theory and practice in teaching and learning.

Her professional experience encompasses language education, instructional design, online learning, and faculty development. She has held academic leadership positions at Deree, including Director of Online Education and Director of Language and Culture Programs, and has contributed to the development of online and blended learning initiatives, faculty professional development, and the integration of educational technologies into teaching and learning.

Her current research focuses on artificial intelligence in higher education, particularly its implications for academic writing, critical thinking, AI literacy, and student learning. She is interested in how emerging technologies can support meaningful engagement with knowledge, independent thinking, and learner agency. Her broader academic interests include learning design, learner-centered education, and the relationship between educational theory and teaching practice.
