Maria Ersi Koliris

Dr. Maria Ersi Koliris has lived in the UK for 10 years, providing mental health services in the higher education sector and the National Health Service (NHS) where she achieved the grade of Senior Counselling Psychologist. She returned to Greece in 2004 to work on the provision of services for victims of trafficking; in the same year she established her private practice and started teaching Psychology. She obtained her professional doctorate in 2012 based on her research on Mindfulness. She has been teaching at Deree since 2018 in the undergraduate and graduate programs in Psychology and provides clinical supervision for graduate trainees on the Master’s program in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy. She also teaches on the National Kapodistrian University Master’s programme in Counselling Psychology. Her research interests revolve around the benefits of Mindfulness-based approaches; she has presented her work on national and international conferences, has contributed to two book chapters and has acted as a scientific editor to the translation of a book on Mindfulness for OCD; she runs seminars on Mindfulness.
