Candy Karra

Bachelor’s Degree, Faculty of Primary Education, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2011); Bachelor’s Degree, “Niki Kontaxaki” Professional Dance School (2009).

Candy Karra is a performer and contemporary dance and improvisation teacher based in Athens. She currently teaches Contemporary Dance for the Deree Contemporary Dance Practice major.

She has worked with various choreographers and dance companies, and performed for major festivals in Greece and abroad, including: Kalamata International Dance Festival, Athens and Epidaurus Festival, Onassis Cultural Centre’s New Choreographers Festival, “Kypria” International Festival (Cyprus), Folkwang Physical Theatre Festival (Essen, Germany) and Battery Dance Festival (New York). She also participated in the first Ultima Vez Research Program for theater and dance (Brussels, Belgium).

Since 2010, she has been teaching contemporary dance and improvisation for different age and level groups in Athens, and since 2012 she has been conducting educational dance workshops in collaboration with the Onassis Cultural Centre.
