Toufic Jaber is a Lebanese diplomat and former Ambassador of Lebanon accredited to several Balkan states. He holds a PhD in Economic Development from the University of London and has served in diplomatic postings in Indonesia, Japan, and at the United Nations in New York. His work focuses on regional diplomacy, international cooperation, and geopolitical developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East.

The lecture examines how the Eastern Mediterranean has become a critical arena of geopolitical competition and diplomatic engagement, shaped by regional conflicts, shifting alliances, and growing energy and security concerns. Focusing on Lebanon’s position within this evolving environment, it explores the challenges facing the country, the impact of wider regional tensions, and the role of diplomacy in promoting stability and cooperation. The discussion will also address broader developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and their implications for regional security and international relations.
