Sustainability Face of the Month: Meet Louiza Stellatou, ACG Energy Manager

At The American College of Greece (ACG), sustainability is embedded in the way the College operates, plans, and evolves. Through strategic energy management and continuous improvement, ACG remains committed to reducing its environmental footprint and advancing responsible campus operations. The Sustainability Face of the Month series highlights members of the ACG community who contribute to this mission through their roles, actions, and everyday choices.

Meet January’s Sustainability Face: Louiza Stellatou

Louiza Stellatou serves as ACG’s Energy Manager, contributing to the College’s sustainability goals through the continuous improvement of energy efficiency and the reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, collaborating closely with the Office of Sustainability – Public Affairs. Her work supports ACG’s sustainability strategy in alignment with the principles and requirements of the ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System and ISO 14064-1:2018 GHG emissions reporting international standards.

In her role, Louiza is responsible for implementing and monitoring energy efficiency actions across ACG campuses, optimizing building systems, and supporting renewable energy initiatives.

“Thank you sincerely for the honor of being featured as Sustainability Face of the Month. It is a privilege to be part of a community that actively promotes sustainability, responsibility, and long-term thinking, and I truly appreciate this recognition,” Louiza shares.

“In my role as Energy Manager, I contribute to the College’s sustainability goals through structured energy management, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement,” she adds. “This includes implementing and monitoring energy efficiency actions within the ISO 50001 framework, optimizing building systems, supporting renewable energy projects, and promoting a culture where energy awareness is embedded in everyday operations.”

On a personal level, Louiza is guided by the ancient Greek principle of “everything in moderation.” Conscious consumption, respect for resources, and thoughtful daily choices shape both her professional approach and personal lifestyle, reinforcing the idea that sustainability begins with balance, responsibility, and everyday actions.

Through her work and expertise as a Mechanical Engineer, Louiza demonstrates how effective energy management, aligned with international standards and institutional commitment, can drive meaningful and measurable sustainability outcomes across a complex campus environment.

At ACG, we proudly feature members of the ACG Community, students, faculty, and staff, who lead sustainable lives on campus and beyond and inspire our community.
