Sevim Kösem

Sevim Kösem is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Deree – The American College of Greece. Before joining Deree, she worked at the Bank of England as a Research Economist in the Monetary Analysis and International Directorates. Prior to her PhD, she was a Researcher in the Research and Monetary Policy Department of the Central Bank of Turkey.
As a graduate teaching assistant at the London School of Economics, she taught courses in macroeconomics, monetary economics, and public policy. She has also delivered executive training programs for central bankers, including courses on GDP nowcasting.
Dr. Kösem’s research interests include macro-finance, international economics, and the dynamics of inequality and housing markets. Her work spans monetary policy, macroeconomic forecasting, and financial stability.
She has published in journals such as Economic Modeling, working paper series and technical blog posts. She is actively involved in conferences, workshops, and refereeing services.
