Sophia Efstathiou works across philosophy of science, applied ethics, and art, science and technology studies to responsibly respond to complex societal challenges. Her work explores climate change mitigation, moving towards a sustainable food system, and promoting health and well-being. She is teaching faculty at the American College of Greece (Deree) and a permanent senior researcher in the Programme for Applied Ethics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Efstathiou is the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Norwegian Research Council project MEATigation: Towards sustainable meat-use in Norwegian food practices for climate mitigation (2020-2024), www.meatigation.no, and co-PI of JPI Healthy Diet, Healthy Life grant ComMEATted: Committed to the responsible development of meat replacement products and practices (2024-2027). She is editing the volume Rethinking Sustainable Meat: Recognizing, Replacing, Refining, forthcoming with Routledge. She is thrilled to be singing in the forthcoming music album of Chicks on Speed, Utopia.
