Dr. Kougkoulos is a faculty member in the Department of Science and Mathematics, teaching courses such as Environmental Geology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at Deree – The American College of Greece. He also lectures on Environmental Risk Management at Arts et Métiers ParisTech, France. Prior to joining Deree, he held research fellowships at the University of Nottingham, UK, and CNRS-LAMSADE, France. His research primarily focuses on the analysis and modeling of natural hazards, utilizing tools like Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Operational Research Methods. Dr. Kougkoulos has contributed extensively to the field through publications in international peer-reviewed journals and presentations at major international conferences. His work aims to improve understanding and management of environmental risks, promoting sustainable solutions in response to natural disasters and ecosystem challenges. With a diverse academic background, he bridges research and teaching to support interdisciplinary learning and environmental problem-solving.
